Hi, check up the sticky thread on the great hunt for a decent laptop.
I posted just yesterday two recommendations for two very good laptops. The cheapest one is just 394 pounds delivered and seems pretty good to me!

  • Just bought one of each of these. Really pleased with them.

seemed to be cheapest, with a real telephone number and people (not a call centre). Gave me internet only price, took order over phone

I keep recommending 'em left right and center this week, but we got a speedy 80gb desktop with 19 inch flatscreen, from ebuyer.com and they accepted paypal, so I used quite a lot of my 'floating ebay' money to pay for it, which was wicked. Excellent customer service too! Very happy customer.

Nothing beats the convenience of having a lptop, if only when you need to move. But also because you can use it everywhere in the house.garden, friends etc. And at this price (394 pounds for a fantastic turion 64!) I think there is no game.

BTW: The technoworld links I passed in the above thread appear still to be the cheapest as acerworld costs more when you add the delivery costs (for orders below 500 pounds as these two Acer laptops).
