Barclaycard - change to different card?

I have a Barclaycard student card, but I'm not a student any more. I'd like to get hold of one of their Platinum cards for the 0% balance transfer. Presumably I need to cancel the card I have at the moment with them. How long do I need to wait before I can apply for a new card with them?

They can transfer you directly to an alternative product if you call them up.

Would I still get 0% offers if I did that?

  • When I called Barclaycard they told me they cant transfer and I would have to cancel & re-apply. Although if you have their visa you can just apply simply easy for a mastercard and vice-versa. I would double check with their customer services first.
  • I upgraded fron Barclaycard Classic Visa to Barclaycard Platinum, the balance was transferred over and new card send, however I was not given the 0% for 16months on BT and purchases, I was told this was for new customers only.
