Avast Free Antivirus problem

Hopefully someone will have a simple answer to this.
I have used Avast to scan my computer for some time now with no problems but now when completing the scan it is finding 8 infected files.
It then gives four options of repair, move to chest, delete or do nothing.
However when selecting any of these I keep on getting the message - Error : the system cannot find the file specified (2)
I have tried several scans but without success.
Any advice would be much appreciated as I have searched this site and others without being able to find a solution.

try safe mode, or reinstall it. or post details of the files. If they are in the system restore area, turn system restore off and on again.!!

Id check via other means too
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM QUICK SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin):idea:0 -

May I ask what database version malwarebytes was run on?
I always suggest quarantine first. If its a false positive and you completely remove it you could end up with a dead operating system:idea:0 -
I'm not really technically minded so not sure what version malwarebytes was run on or where to find it......would it be 1.46?
I assume if quarantining first then it could be removed at a later date if the operating system has not been affected.0 -
Open malwarebytes, goto LOGS and post the WHOLE of the last log
When in quarantine it stays in quarantine until you manually remove it (by either deleting it forever or restoring it back to where it came from):idea:0
