Jessops - Reconditioned Items

Just a warning DO NOT buy reconditioned items from Jessops. They have a section on their website at the moment where they periodically list reconditioned stock - once someone buys that item it disappears from the site - i saw a Sony Cybershot DSC T90 on there for £78 - check the description and said it included all the necessarys ie battery, charger, etc etc. These retail at approx £260.
Well it arrived today. The box looked like it had been sat outside for a year (but that's a minor issue you can turn a blind eye to that), then i opened the box which was near on empty except for the camera and the strap!!! No battery, no battery charger, no pen ........ not happy. So i rang them and the very rude man i spoke to said they wouldn't send me the battery/charger and to return the camera for a refund - surely this isn't right, if the item is described as having these items they should supply them. I spoke to their sales department who confirmed they had them in stock. I then rang back and asked to speak to a Manager, he was busy and I asked for a call back, an hour later nothing, so rang again, lady i spoke to said manager was aware of the situation and would ring me back before 5.30pm - this was at 4.00pm - 5.30pm came and went - nothing. I'm fuming. Where do i stand? I was thinking of pushing for the battery etc but i'm not convinced that the camera will be any good after all this hassle, but if they refund my money it can take up to 28 days - that's ridiculous.

The original thread was in the techie question incase someone could suggest an alternative ie whether to get the battery etc. I then posted it in here to vent my anger - isn't that what this thread is for? Are you a mod?A home is not a home ..... without a dog0

Good, well said, but alas, Freddie does not offer absolution for your sins, only the maker can do that.
Obviously with that tone, I would apply some payment dates that my company are now experiencing. Your refund will be done within the next 120 days.
Problem?
Oh, and on the subject, if you had asked Jessops politely and explained the missing items in the first place, they may had offered a replacement battery and charger. But, hey, you've blown it! I know, because I have used the same company and always find them co-operative!0 -
Don't forget that Jessops are seriously in debt (approx £60 million at the last estimate), and last year they lost over £19 Million, so they have to make savings somewhere!0
