                    Oooh no.
We have put an offer in on the property. it was accepted (the vendors had put an offer in of somewhere of their own which was also accepted). They then went on holiday. Meanwhile, I'm sorting out brokers, trying to get my DIP made into an offer and instructing conveyancers.
The vendors are back today, the valuation and homebuyers survey have been booked for tomorrow and the EA just phoned to say that the peopel we're buying from have been told that the house they had put an offer on has been sold to someone else as they didn't inform the estate agents for that property that they had buyers for their property and were ready to go.
OK it doesn't make any difference, it'll be a bit longer and we can only hope that they find somewhere they like. But it was perfect before as the house was empty - the chances are now that we're going to be on the bottom of a chain isn't it? And theres probably no chance now of being in before Xmas is there.....

Depends on the length of you new chain once it's in place. If your vendors are buying from someone who's also buying...etc. Could be a long or short chain, and that's most often what decides when you all move.
You can only do your best to not be the one that causes everybody not to bein by xmas, which it sounds like you're already doing a good job of. Just hope everyone else does the same!
As soon as one person resigns themself to after xmas you're done for.
Stressful trying to move before xmas though (we tried and failed!)Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery0
