Warning about Trade it

I just wanted to hightlight the dangerous about using free adds paper like Trade it or Gumtree.
I don`t know if this is a common practise, but first time for me.
I got two emails from interested buyers, which sounded a bit add to me as if they were so interested in my item they would have rung me there and then. They left they phone number ( which I rung and no one ever picks up) and address + email address.
I didn`t bother to reply, but got another email today and eventually replied that they should ring me up if interested. This is what I received just then.

Yeah, we all know that this is a silly con and some people could get burned by this.
So please if you do get messages like this , do not replye to them!

I'd go along with this.

Free ads are supposed to facilitate face-to-face transactions, not act as a cheap substitute for eBay. If you read the Gumtree site forums they are adamant that they are not a conventional online shop and should not be treated like such.

It's up to you and everyone else to use them properly and not accept postal or electronic payments for items sold through these sites as neither you nor the buyer have much back-up if things go wrong.

eBay and Amazon have procedures that are designed to safeguard distance sales.
