we are packing for egypt on Friday having never been there before we are not to sure what clothes for the evening to pack,, is it cold at night?? the day looks very hot ,, but not certain about night any advice??

HI CArl you will be able to sunbathe in the day and swim in the sea but only in a heated swimming pool. At night it can get a little cool particualry if there is a breeze but a thin fleece or light jacket will be fine. It is unlikely to be cold in the hotel

In answer to your other question you will need Egyptian pounds. Most hotels are all inclusive so yo should just need a few for tips. If not AI I suggest you sign for everything and then settle your bill by card and keep the change for tips again. Any trips can be paid for by card and from memory trip prices are based on the dollar

I too am packing this weekend for my trip to Sharm on Sunday morning. This will be my 4th time in Sharm and the advice above is about right, it can cool down quite a bit in the evenings, a light wrap or jacket should suit if you like to sit outside of an evening.

I would advise you change your money to Egyptian pounds over there, you'll get a better rate of exchange. I have some dollars I will change there as I still have about 80EGP from my last trip which will last a few days for tips - we're going AI but plan to tip the staff if we get good service.
