would like some advice

i am in an iva at the moment, I have a disabled son and we have had a realy tough year I am off work with depression but luckily getting paid, my company are wonderful and have approached a charity for a grant to pay for a holiday and to get the children a christmas present each, we havnt had a holiday in four years and dont know how much longer we have left with our son, I would realy like to accept their grant but dont know how this will effect our iva would it be classed as a windfall, if they want me to pay it into our iva I will be turning it down.

    If you do get end up getting a grant you could deal with it in two ways.

    1. Have any benefit of the grant put into your son's name... ie a cheque in your sons name or whatever - he may not be old enough to legally have competence however, so

    2. Contact your IP via email and explain the situation. That a sum of money (or whatever) will pass through your account for a specific pupose, and ask for confirmation (in an email or letter) from your IP that this will be acceptable and will have no affect on your IVA. Can't imagine any problems really!
    Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
