What's A Full Path To Server Root?

I am attempting to import old html pages into wordpress using the HTML Page Import Plugin. Part of the instructions asks for 'The beginning directory.' and states: ' This should be a full path from the server root, on the same server where WordPress is running now.' I don't understand this

What I have done is created a directory on myblog.com and called it old-rticles. I've ftp' the old html files into that directory, just to give them a home and now I want to import them into a folder on my actual blog entitled 'articles.' I'm confused though as to how I can find 'the full path from the server root.' When I try the like of /public_html/old-articles or mysite.com/articles I get a message something like this.

Warning: scandir(/public_html/old-articles) [function.scandir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /websites/LinuxPackage04/ke/vi/nh/mysite.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/import-html-pages/html-import.php on line 554

How do I figure out what the root is?

Are you running this on your own machine or is it on the internet?

From the server root means from the highest level directory / on the server - not from the top level of your site.

So from the details provided the full path from the server root for public_html/old-articles would be /websites/LinuxPackage04/ke/vi/nh/mysite.com/public_html/old-articles

There's a couple of possibilities depending on who your host is, probably best to ask them what it is.Try mymymy's answer first though, as it looks like the most likely option.
