Did you have any communication with the buyer regarding the fact that you were sending it our again after you had tested it?

This is probably the crucial question (and not yet answered).

Once the buyer raises the dispute, returns the item by a trackable method and the refund is automatically given, ebay/paypal's view will be that the transaction is complete.
  • Yes, the communication was that the pc was tested and was found to be working fine so I was returning it to them to complete the sale. I was happy to send photos and screen prints of the pc working, etc but got no reply. Everything I did was recommended by e-bay customer services which is why I'm so annoyed they have messed me about.
  • Like you say, you have their address. If the buyer isn't replying to your e-mails write a letter. If you live close enough maybe pay them a visit. Small claims court is always an option if it doesn't get resolved amicably.
  • Paying them a visit is definitely an option, but I don't see why I should have to. Maybe my principles are kinda screwed up but e-bay gave me a recommendation of what to do, I followed it to the letter and now I'm £170 down cos of them. I'm giving e-bay til the end of the week then I'll have to contact the buyer direct.
