Does anyone happen to know what the maximum drive size I can install into a system using an Intel 865G chipset?

I've tried googling it but so far have drawn a blank.

Thanks

would have thought it was the motherboard / bios combo that would impose any limit (if any). This isn't an old-old chipset and most mobos that use it would support SATA drives so wouldn't expect any restrictions.

Even if there was a limit, you could always buy a PCI IDE/SATA card and stick that in for a couple of pounds, then it won't matter what the computer says the limit is.

Thought the hard drive limit is managed by windows or certainly the operating system

it was.. but less so as time goes by, just like it isn't limited by BIOS anymore.
The biggest thing that windows limits is RAM, at least until we all go 64bit

    HI,

There is no limit to this -- the BIOS may first see this as limited to 132GB -- then you can partiton this -- to see then at full capacity --- or simply -- update your bios.

    Cheers
