This question probably been asked a million times but can I ask it please.
I have a gas combi boiler and themo controlled radiators with a timer for the boiler. What is the best temp to put on for winter. The timer has it in °c. The boiler has two dials - one for temp (varying with a winter and summer setting) and one for water temp.
What do I set the boiler at? Also what would I set the timer at temp wise? And what is best times to have the timer on at - before I get up in morning till after I leave and come on before I arrive home and go off before I go to bed?
I am don't want a big bill again this year and thought if I set the thing right I won't.
Thanks for any help given.

Set the timer to whatever times are require to get the house to the required temp before you get up, and the required temp before you come in-this will depend on the efficiency of your own system. It should go off a little before you leave, not after.
Set the room 'stat to whatever you are comfortable with-most people like it around 20C.
Why not try the CH water temp on the winter default setting and see how you get on?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Thanks for your comments, this is what we have decided to do, I hope it is ok.
Heating come on at 5.00am at 16c (I get up at 5.30)
Heating goes off at 8.00am at 14c (hubby get in from night shift then)
Heating comes on at 4.00pm at 19c (I get home at 4.30)
Heating goes off at 11.00 at 14c (usually in bed for about 11.00 after taking hubby to work).
Set boiler at winter setting and hot water at half way round dial.
