insurance:-Help , should i keep my std home insurance while looking for a tenant

Help Please , i'm about to give my keys to a letting agent to find me a tennat for my property (not mortgaged) i have been living in the house for the past 15 years , its all spick and spank and ready to let........i will be moving out etc(i think i need to talk to the insurance company in regards to this point as the property will be unoccupied for more than 30 days at a time)

But , i currently have standard home owner house and content insurance , i do not yet have a tennat or a prosepctive tennant , do i need to inform my insurance company of my intentions , or will my directline home insurance cover me , while the letting agent is seeking me a tenant?

I dont want to ring up my insurance company and rock the boat unless its best to ?

I fully understand and already have quotes in place for if and when a tennant does sign , i found with most of the landlord insurances , they want either want a agreement in place , or a tennant within 45 days or the cover will lapes in some cases or special conditions will be put in place.

Advice welcomed.
