Car getting damaged in car park, what do I do?

Thank you, I am definitely going to contact my agents.
I guess the only thing I could do is get a neighbour to swap spaces with me, but I doubt anyone would want to swap when they would then be risking their own car, unfortunately there aren't even visitors spaces which I could park in so its not really an option.0 -
I want you to imagine how stupid you would feel if presented with video evidence of the dents occuring you discover it was something else, like supermarket car park or kids with a ball. Until you know for a fact you shouldn't be hurling abuse at the cleaners or even accusing them of doing this.
It just doesn't sound right to me that this would be the cleaners, resting the ladders isn't going to cause a dent and even if it did how would it dent the area below the mirror? A dent is caused by some considerable force, resting a ladder does not make sense. Maybe they are moving their ladders out of their van and hit your car, that I can belive as possible, but you still have no proof it was them and not a shopping trolley.
All you have acheived by shouting at them is maybe to wind them up, and if they are that way inclined, you've made yourself a target. $h!t happens, don't go accusing people, you have no idea if they did this or not.
Put up a cctv covering your space,0 -
I think she was ranting about them, not at them!0

Ummm...I haven't ranted at them, I am not the type to rant AT people, I will simply be calling to ask them to be more careful around my vehicle, very polite and certainly not in a hurling abuse way (as you should be able to see from my posts I have not hurled abuse or been irrational at any point!) but from the look of it you didn't actually read my initial post.
I would suggest that considerable force would be caused by the weight of a person standing on a ladder, this ladder being at an angle next to my car would cause these marks. I have seen them doing this before so I am pretty confident about this. And another thing...sh$t does happen, but it really pi$$es you off when it's to your property, not once, but twice. Thanks so much for your input.0 -

Just in case this caused the above confusion this stream of abuse was actually not AT the window cleaners, it was me alone in the car park glaring at this second dent!0 -
I have to say, car parks are the most likely cause of any damage to your car.
Shopping trolleys, car door's, children, huge handbags (when you think your cars been keyed), it all happen's at the supermarket car parks

However to get 2 marks in the same place each side would be pretty unlikely in random carparks. My car is always parked in the same place, there is a window to each side of the car, cars are pretty wide, you can't reach across one to clean a window. As I said had I not seen them resting on people's cars before I wouldn't just assume it was them, but having seen them do this to my old car I am fairly certain it was them this time.
It would be extremely likely that you would get 2 marks in the same place on both sides of your car in random carparks. Cars do park on both sides of your car.
Going by the size of your car, getting dents in the same place on both sides, it is more than likely going to people opening their doors and accidentally bumping your car. The force of opening a door rarely leaves a paint mark, but more often than not results in a dent as you describe. The size of dent, position etc, also points to a door bumping it.
You also said you noticed the marks on different days, did you make a note of where you had been and what you had been doing the previous day?
As wig said, I can't understand how resting a ladder against your car, whilst cleaning a window would cause a dent under the wing mirror? If you know they rest ladders against your car, by all means complain, but personally I don't think you can blame the window cleaners for the damage on this occasion.0 -
Contact your local Dent Devils for a quote. They should be able to sort out the dents for about £70 per panel, or maybe less if you have 2 that need doing. Not much point trying to do it yourself.
I'm not sure how a window cleaner would rest his ladder just under the door mirror. Surely they rest against the floor? It's certainly easy to pick up dents in supermarkets, so always park at the back of the supermarket if there's lots of empty spaces!0
