Seller not replying, item broken, what next?

Hi all,
I bought a new power adapter for a laptop just over a week ago. The seller listed it as brand new, and that it is supplied with a 31 day guarantee (although must be returned within 18 days?!).
Anyway, it worked when it arrived, but then broke at the weekend. Good feedback left on both sides. I've emailed the seller to ask what I should do with it. Unfortunately he's not supplied a full address in his Ebay details- just his name, city, and postcode, or I'd sent it back. He hasn't replied, but has listed other items (including more adapters).
I'm just getting concerned as his return policy has a short time, and we need to use the computer.
What should I do now? I've heard of chargebacks with Paypal, but have never done one- yet!
Thanks for any help.

Firstly get his contact details and give him a call. Also, you can open a dispute via paypal, that isn't a chargeback but merely an official way to correspond with your seller, log into paypal and then resolution centre and follow the prompts.

In his contact details, does he list a telephone number?

If so, give him a ring and talk to him. I always find talking to the seller gets things moving ALOT quicker :D

No telephone number listed, unfortunately. No house number either! I've found the jiffy bag that he sent the adapter in though, and it has his address on the back. Can't find a number through directory enquiries (BT.com) though, so I think it'll just have to go back with a letter. Fingers crossed he'll send another... he's listed 30 more of the same item on ebay now! Thanks for the help people. :j
