cmos/bios on start-up

hi,
can any one help me please
i think ive pressed something i shouldnt,
on start-up i pressed f1/del and entered the set-up utility,
now before i done whatever i done,on the start-up
in my top left corner it had CPU CLOCK 1.9ghz
now it shows 2533 MHZ.
WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG PLEASE
help needed and thanks given

  • If it still works then what you have done is set the speed at which your cpu processor communicates with the memory to the correct value. In other words your PC was previously under performing by 25% and you have now set it to the correct value.

    You probably have pc3200, DDR400 RAM on a clock speed on 200MHz with a 2.5Gig cpu but previously set to run safe/underclocked in your bios as pc2700, 266/133 which means the cpu is only running at 1.9Gig.

    As I said, if it works enjoy the extra performance.
