Amazon buyer has cancelled order what to do?

Hi I am pretty new to selling on Amazon. Today an item of mine was bought and then a few hours later cancelled because he had ordered the wrong thing. I have gone into my account and cancelled the order do I have to do anything else? Will his money be refunded automatically or do I have to do a manual refund?

TIA

Hi, you would not have received any money for the item unless you had clicked that you had already shipped it but presumably you won't have posted it on a Sunday evening? Therefore you don't have anything to refund as you haven't been paid yet. I didn't think sellers could cancel orders any more - thought it was buyers who did that these days but I may be wrong.

You can go to your payments account and check to see there whats going on.

Hi Teapot you might be right. He asked me to cancel because he made a mistake. I will have a look in my payments account, but as its Sunday I doubt that there will be any money there.

    Thanks for the help

No problem but as I was trying to explain, you wouldn't have been paid for the item anyway yet as the customer doesn't get charged until the seller clicks on 'item shipped' and puts in a carrier ie RM, Parcel Force etc. So, as long as you hadn't clicked that the item was shipped, the customer wouldn't have been charged anything - had you clicked 'item shipped', if so then you would have to refund.

    Hello

Payment won't be processed until you mark the item as shipped in your account. As the order was cancelled before you marked the item as shipped, you won't need to do anything with it now.

    Thanks... I understand :)
