I put some washing up liquid an boiling water in the pan and return it to the hob and bring to the boil. Keep it simmering for about 10 minutes then wash as normal. Works everytime for me.

If you look at the sunday dinner cook off near enough towards the end of the thread I posted a pic of my burnt steamer base.I used a table spoon of bicarb and toped it up with white vingear to the top of the burnt bit and just left it for 10 mins and it just wiped off! It came up like brand new and no need for scrubbing or boiling.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0

get a kitchen timer and set it for how long your food is to cook for ,put it by the pc ,then it will beep and remind you to go and sort it out.
My neighbour kept setting off her smoke alarm because she grilled sausages and the phone would go and she would forget. We bought her a timer for xmas so she could have it by the phone when that happened.
Also useful for getting rid of chatter boxes when you dont really have time to talk but are too embarassed to say so. Set the timer and when it sounds you can say ,there goes the timer for me to get the cake out, must go,bye0 -
Made some jam the other day and managed to burn my really expensive stainless steel saucepan. I have tried loads of things to get rid of it but cant shift it!
I have tried so far soaking it with salt overnight. then soaking it with salt adding water , boiling it and leaving it. Also tried the carbon remover from lakeland which usually does most things. some of it has gone but there are still loads of patches which will not budge.
any clues please?0 -
