Hi guys,

What is easiest to apply for - AMEX Gold charge or AMEX Platinum Cash back?

I am looking for the cash back but also the gold charge card offer 20.000 points that includes two BA flight.

I am not sure which is one is the easiest to get accepted?

- My annual house hold income is 74k ( me and my partner )
- I am not in the electoral roll as I am not eligible yet until next year
- I have a british airways amex premium supplementary card from my partner - does it help for my application?)

- 1 Barclaycard limit 8k / balance 2.800
- 1 Barclaycard limit 2k / balance 0
- 3 current acount ( barclays/coop and citibank )

never missed one payment and have spent/paid over 12k in the last 12 months?

from what I have heard, AMEX is getting more difficult to get at the moment. I would clear your balance & get on the er first.

I might be wrong, well I dont make any of their decisions.

  • Yeah I think you are right. I'd better wait to reduce my balance before applying but do you know which one is easier to get accepted?

The gold charge card the minimum income is 20k, less than the cashback platinum, however, it seems like tougher as you need to make full payment in the end of each month?

In the old days I would have said the charge card. I have seen so many with people you wouldnt have expected to need one. I have even seen checkout guys from Tescos with an Amex charge card.

But these days I dont really know. I am aware that people have been turned down for the BA credit card.

But quite a few on here have got the chasback credit card
  • Hmm interesting... I will reduce my current balance and within 3 months apply to see what will be they answer =D

    Thanks for your reply:rotfl:
