Someone/thing has sabotaged my friend's hotmail account so that nearly every day it sends out those viagra adverts to everyone on her contact list. Now everyone just ignores any email message that she sends out because they think it is one of those spam viagra ones.
What can she do about this??? Can you help?
Any advice or weblinks posted will be very much welcomed.

She could start by doing a thorough virus scan.
I have found the online scan at F-Secure very effective in practise. It's free.
Once that's done proceed to run Malwarebytes and then C Cleaner.
If these measures don't cure the problem - report back here.

are the spam messages in her sent box?
Change her password.
Has she clicked a link like seee who has blocked you or some other thing that relates to entering their username and password?
Virus scan also would help incase she has a virus/malwareSurvey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740 -

I have emailed her a link to this tread and she will follow the advice given. I had the problem once and just changing my password resolved the problem but I am an not sure if was a one off problem and the password change only a coincidence in resolving the problem.
Thanks for responding so quickly. I always find that the techie page are fastest with responding.... cheers“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson
