Exodus Travel Company asking for more money for holiday after paying deposit

I recently booked a holiday for next year to peru with Exodus, it was a 23 day holiday touring peru cost £3549 each booked for me and my mum.
They took a 10% deposit and charged 2% for credit card boo! them.
I received a confirmation email, then the next day I got another email from them saying that a supplement for £170 was due for the flights as the cheap seat have been sold already.
Anyone know where I stand with this, I know in the grand scheme of things 170 extra on 3549 isn't a lot but its seems like taking the !!!! to me.
I replied to them saying I think its a cost they should incur themselves not pass on to customers but I wont hear back till monday chances are they'll just say pay or cancel

Great I should read the T&Cs more closely, so basically they can charge me whatever they want to doesn't have to resemble the price on the website at all, good to know

I've travelled with Exodus before, and you don't need to take the group flights. If you think they are charging over the odds, check out the flight prices and the difference between their prices including and excluding flights. You can get your own flights and transfers if it is going to work out cheaper, and they don't normally have a problem with this.

I am a bit surprised that they didn't warn you they would need to check flight availability before booking though - that's a bit naughty of them.
