Hi
I was wondering if anyone can advise on the best & Cheapest method of taking holiday money. Is it better to take cash or use the debit or credit card when away? I will be in Norway and if anyone knows if it's particularly expensive there?
Any help would be great
Many thanks

Norway's cash only I'm afraid but it's just about the cheapest country in Europe. No VAT or any duties. Cigarettes costs less than a pound a packet and petrol is 20p a litre. Enjoy Norway!;)0

Travellingbum has obviously got his tongue well and truly stuck in his cheek!
It's always handy to have a few notes of local currency, but cards are taken everywhere.
Food and drink is very expensive (we priced a meal for two - two pints and two burgers with fries would have been £80, so we just had the beer and that was £20!), petrol/diesel is similar to UK, clothes are similar prices to UK.
As they aren't in the EU if you buy anything over IIRC 130 krona (about £15) get a tax refund form and you can claim some of the tax back - I got £13 back on a £90 purchase.0 -
Sorry; I got Norway and Indonesia mixed up.:o0

I travel to Stavanger a fair bit and everywhere takes cards, probably useful to take some cash just in case but in all the trips (over 30 in 2009) I have been on I have never withdrawn any money and never had any problems.0

Thanks guys for the heads up.
I had heard that Norway was expensive but, £80 for dinner is outrageous.
Does anyone know if it's better to take all cash or use the debit/credit card? I've read Martin's traveling tips but I'm still unsure which is best.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks0
