A & L £50 offer problem

Having had a graduate account with the RBS which had an interest free overdraft I am now keen to switch to the Alliance and Leicester's current account offer (0% overdraft for the first year)
However, I would like to snap up the free £50 in the offer too (Well, £50 is not a small amount is it?!)
BUT....
I have a joint account with my fiancee at Alliance and Leicester and they will not do the offer if you already have an account.
Should I...(or even can I???).... remove my name from the joint account (leaving it only in my fiancees name) - and then apply for a personal account - therefore netting me £50 of free cash in the process.
Is this going to be possible? Anyone who has any advice I would be really pleased if you had any ideas.
Thanks in advance!

Premier Direct Important Information
If your joint account is a Premier Direct account, you'll have to wait 3 months, from removing your name, before applying for another one. However, if your joint account is a Premier, it looks like you can apply straight away for the Premier Direct.
Premier Important Information
It looks like you can apply for the Premier account straight after closing (or removing your name from) whatever account you have now. However, if you also want the associated Regular Saver account, you'll have to wait 3 months from closing (or removing your name from) whichever A&L current acount you have now.0
