Designer handbags

Options
I have some designer handbags that I want to list on Ebay. They are Gucci, etc. but I can't be sure whether they are genuine.

I have checked on the net, and they seem to be real, but am worried about listing in case they aren't. I have 100% feedback, and don't want to lose it.

Is there anything I can put in the listing to cover myself, or is it safer not to list ?

A genuine designer handbag comes with a certificate of authenticity. If you don't have this, I'd be very wary about selling it.

Checking on the net will not tell you if it's real. You need to go to an authorised retailer to get it checked.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Your only supposed to list them if you are sure, it's down to you to find out. Although i have seen plenty of fakes on ebay!
I'm not sure they do all come with coa's anyway. I have sold a couple of genuine ones (not gucci though) and they have numbers printed inside the bag but no bits of paper etc.

I can't provide a COA as I bought them at an auction. Looking at the quality of items that came from the same bereaved estate, I would guess that they are genuine. The have registration numbers on the bags, but then I guess fakes would too.

Will probably sell them locally just as handbags with no guarantee of authenticity, and maybe someone will get a bargain

    Thanks for the advice

  • How much did you pay for them? If you got them for £20 at an auction then most likely fakes. If you weren't sure there would be buyers at the sale who were sure and would have bid accordingly.

Don't think so, it is a small auction filled with mainly the public and furniture buyers.

Not going to risk it anyway, so I'll never know
