Balloo, Bangor - buys your old clothes

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the name and contact details of the place in Balloo Industrial Estate in Bangor that buys your old clothes off you and gives you so much as per weight of clothes.
Thanks
Darcy

  • Is this really worth the botheration?? I have had a couple of places put an advertisement through the letterbox regarding this. Is like 50 pence per kilo, or something, that they will give you. Is going to be a lot of hassle. Might have a look as could do with throwing a few bits out...!

The rag and phone man does this - a leaflet came through my letterbox last week. They come and pick up at a time convenient to you. Not on the weekend though. And it could be any time between 9am-5pm. So not particularly convenient at all really...
  • I've used one in East Belfast a few times. I never get a great amount of money - usually between £4-£6 for a binbag load. However, having had a lifetime of grumpy charity shop staff who on occasion make you feel like they are doing you a huge favour by taking the bag off you, I tend to just drop bags off at this place now if I'm going that way. Won't make you rich but its always a few quid for a bottle of wine, bar of chocoate or something.

Clothing, shoes, belts. Bed linen, curtains and even handbags!!!

How many stickers do you get through the letterbox for "charity" collections? They have even stopped giving out free binbags :rotfl:

Last trip my other half did got her £33!

Oh and sorry for going off topic but we recently had our hot water cylinder replaced as it was leaking, plumber told us the old one was only worth £7 or £8 quid scrap....... took it and the old pipes to a scrap place and was handed £45!!!!!

He knew exactly what he was at - copper is worth a fortune these days. The guy in Tates Ave is a good bet.

I have heard there is one in Templemore Avenue but have not seen it. Definately one near the Ice Bowl at Dundonald.

Used Clothing Co. Unit 20, Hanwood Business Park, Old Dundonald Rd

  • Have used the one in Dundonald and my mother in law has used the one in Bangor. Absolutely no hassle at all. I had about 4 or 5 bags of clothing, bedlinen, curtains etc and got £30 ish and m-i-l got nearly £40 for hers. Not bad for a clear out.

Def agree re the charity shops - they have got very fussy about what they take and I would rather line my pockets than some executive director in a charity!!!!!:rotfl:

Our local BB company are also doing it as a fund raiser - money for doing nothing - can't beat it!!!!:T:T
  • Templemore Ave (N'Ards Rd end). They are a different company though.

Also Woodstock Road beside Eastender pub and EH Electrics.

Dundonald in the development behind the cinema.

Also one on Lisburn Rd opposite Tesco.
