Ideas for stocking fillers please

I wondered if anyone had any bright ideas for what to actually put in stockings.
So far all I've got is a box of Minstrels, chocolate coins, a toothbrush (it's a tradition) and a pack of pens. I'm not especially looking for freebies but I prefer to get inexpensive things that will be used rather than plastic rubbish that is forgotten once the main presents are open.
Thanks.

who/what age is the stocking for
for my OH - book, tobacco filter/papers, cd? choc orange, socks, nuts, orange, highlighters, notebook/pad, keyring, gloves, dvd, mug
for my 2.5 year old - pjs, flannel, tooth brush, choc buttons, smarties, colouring book, pens, socks, orange, loose chocs, felt tips, playdough, new cup,0 -
I just look out for reduced to clear stuff and have managed to get a couple of bargains. Here's some ideas:
Battery toothbrush
Flannel/sponge
Bath toy (my 5 and 7 year old are still playing with the toddler wind-up toys that were in their stockings last year)
Bubble bath (Check out Tesco, this year I got a character mini inflatable thing filled with bubble bath but you can get big bottles for £2. Bath crayons have also gone down a treat in the past http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/search/default.aspx?searchBox=bath&N=4294966933)
Characther undies/socks
Blowing bubbles
Stickers
Little lego set (I got a couple of Toy Story ones in the paper offer)
Polly Pocket character
Ben 10 Alien in a bath bomb type thing
Book/Magazine (Mine got a Mr.Men book each last year)
Baby/Puppy/Jungle Animals In My Pocket
Party Popper
Cereal Bar (so they have something 'sensible' before the chocolate starts)
Gold coins
Notebook or stationary set.
Beanie toy
Polystyrene airplane
Balloon
Diecast vehicle
Marbles
Mine haven't got all these things this year but thats a selection of things they've had. I try to find things through the year when they are reduced to clear. Last year I went a bit mad on party bag type tat, this year I've tried to keep it simpler. For me the stockings are the most exciting part but I like to keep them as cheap as possible.
Check out Hawkins Bazaar, they have loads of stocking filler type toys http://www.hawkin.com/36841-HBTOYSPPOCKET/toys/stocking-fillers/Debt Free: 01/01/2020

Character Bath/Showel Gel and or Character Soap
Felt Tips
Power Ball
Colouring Book
Selection Box
Character Socks/Pants
PJ's
Annual (bookpeople website have some at £2.99)

Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0 -
Like others have said I don't know if this will help as I don't know how old the people reciving the stocking/s are.
With my young children I include some snacks (sweet & savoury), fruit, a few sweets, maybe slipper socks, some toiletries but possibly from ranges I wouldn't usually buy - buble bath, toothbrush, flannel etc, I also include something to keep them occupied crayons & colouring book, puzzle, small game, small action figures or cars incase they wake up before I'm ready to get out of bed.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

My sister and I have agreed to make up a small hamper for each other this Christmas, filled with stocking filler type stuff. So far I'm planning to put in:
-an individual bottle of Snowball cocktail (her first alcohol drink in her teens and never forgotten)
-small tube of nice handcream, in a pretty gauze giftbag with:
-a bottle of "budget" nail polish from Marks and Spencer,
-small scented candle
-bag of monkey nuts (peanuts in their outer shells, another childhood favourite)
- dangly earrings (fashion, not gold) from Accessorize)
- a small card-making kit (£4 from E Bay)
- a framed photo of her dog (photo fram from Wilko's)
I'm also going to look at the trial sizes of "posh" shampoos and skin care in Boots for her.
I've already got some of that cellophane that florists use, I just need to find a basket or gift bag.
