I'm after some advice please. Our tumble dryer has packed in and the washing machine is on it's last legs so.......in the interest of space saving, can anybody advise whether it's safe to stack a tumble dryer on top of a washing machine??
I'm guessing it is but I'm not sure if you have to buy specific models or whether you can stack any onld items. Bearing in mind the experiences I've had with washing machines dancing around the kitchen when on high spin I somehow doubt it.
The other option of course is to buy a washer/dryer but like my hi-fi, I have always preferred separates.

Many manufacturers have WMs and TDs that can be stacked. Some manufacturers sell kits that are used to atack the TD on top of the WM.
There is a universal stacking kit such as this one that can stack different makes.

All our dryers have sat on top of our washing machines oover the years - the OH made a simple frame around the side of the washing machine, fixed a 'formica' type piece of wood on top, to make a shelf for it to stand on, allowing some space all round for ventilation, and the dryer stands on that. I wouldn't spend out money for a special pairs of machines or other kit.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

My TD is on top of the WM just put there it moves about 2mm per wash so some times I push it back.0

I kept mine on top of the washer for years without mishap, had a piece of mdf in between that had dips to keep the feet a bit more secure. Just on top of a cupboard now. It's been on one or the other for about 15 years now so I'd say go for it.0
