Robbing Peter to pay Paul?

I have a HSBC current account which my wages go into and an Intelligent Finance joint current account which all the mortgage and bills are paid out of. I am about to go overdrawn for the first time since opening the IF account (only by a few quid and within my overdraft limit). I go overdrawn in my HSBC account quite often.
My question is: should I take some money from the HSBC and put it into the IF thus maintaining an impeccable record with IF?
(If I do this, it will cause the HSBC to become overdrawn again (again, only by a few quid and within my overdraft limit)).
Or should I not worry about it?

would not worry about it as they are both authorised overdrafts - which are not a problem
just work out which one is charging the higher interest to use it ?0 -

I was just wondering if there was any benefit to keeping a clean record with IF?Al_Mac wrote:Why not have one account, or 2 in the same place
In fairness, it's muggins here who does all the banking and paying in the IF account so it does seem a little pointless having two accounts but it does keep my banking separate from ours so I know what's what.0 -
As I said, I've been with HSBC for years. Then a couple of years ago we set up a joint account. The reason I didn't set it up with HSBC or Natwest (hers) was that IF offered better rates of interest. If I was to open another today it would be different again as there are better deals available. I have just opened an Alliance & Leicester Premier Direct current account which will become my main account and I will wind the HSBC one down.0
