If God had not meant to have the birth of his son commercialised, he wouldn't have had him born at christmas time.0

Christmas is great for many reasons that I'm too tired right now to list. It doesn't have to be expensive at all.0

Do you remember last year?
Loads of doom and gloomers were saying there would be a house price crash when Decembers credit card bills landed on peoples mats in Jan.:rotfl:We love Sarah O Grady0 -

We had a meal out one evening recently, with my sister treating us - for the first time ever. It was really good.
There was some notice up on a wall about the Christmas menu, at £98 a head. My sis was trying to sell me on the idea of how good it would be, and worth it (also I'd have to pay my own place and 50% towards someone else's) given we'd be there for 2 hours, top food, someone else doing all the serving, special treat... they had me half saying yes... but when we spoke to the manager told us they'd been booked up since April 2010, and provisionally fully booked up for Christmas 2011, all except for around 12 places. Being fully booked since April shocked me, but who books their meal for Christmas 2011 so far in advance? I couldn't believe it but he looked honest when he told us.
So we're going to have our "Christmasy" main restaurant meal out on either Christmas Eve, or Boxing Day, as we've done before, because many places aren't fully booked then and have regular menus of good food but no big Christmas Day premium. £98 per head probably doesn't shock many people for places down south but I've not paid that sort of money before. We've always had a meal at home on Christmas Day, so I'm no expert on Christmas Day pricing.0 -

Try Kempton Park.
They do racing on Boxing day, and advertise a "Value Package" in the Panoramic Restaurant. £49.95 per head (2 courses) up to £100 for 4 course plus Bubbly and Wine.
Just the thing for your's truly and Mrs Loughton Monkey so I was on the phone like a shot, just making sure they had a table and that it includes entrance to the course.
Was told for Boxing day, it's £275 per head!

Incidentally, anyone from Birmingham area?
Last I heard they don't have "Christmas" there any year. It would upset the non-Christians. They replaced it with "Winter Festival".
If I had my way, any public servant who has (had) been party to that decision would be right at the front of the queue for cuts!0 -

Cancel Crimbo ? No Way !
Our kids quite rightly enjoy this time of year.
We save every month to allow us to buy our kids and our families gifts for Christmas day, so we are never searching for the extra money to fund this time of year .
Anyhow, I normally end up working at some point during the festive season due to the nature of my job, but I firmly believe my family must still enjoy Christmas ...!ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
