Gah! Bad feedback for not offering collection!?

Hi all,
I've sold a couple of items to a chap on ebay recently and didn't have collection listed as an option.
The buyer contacted me to ask where he could collect. I'm not keen on face to face transactions so explained I'd be out of town on work for the next few weeks so couldn't arrange collection, but would be happy to post them. I had no reply to this so after a week sent another - still no response.
Yesterday I filled in a cancel transaction request stating that I hadn't received payment. I immediately got a response from the buyer "how dare you etc etc.!!" and he's completed 3 lovely new negative feedbacks for me.
So the question is - what can I do now? Can I have these removed as they're clearly unfair?
Cheers!

You needed to file non paying bidder claims rather than cancel transaction. The latter leaves you open to receiving feedback whereas the former gets the bidder a strike.
I don't know if you can still file an NPB, someone should be on to answer that soon.0 -

Ah, I thought that's what I had done - there are 3 open cases listed under "Resolution Centre" - the Problem is listed as; "The buyer hasn't paid for this item yet" and the status is "Unpaid item case open – awaiting payment" if that helps!0 -

If the case has been open for 4 days you can close it and i think removes the feedback.
If the buyer doesnt pay he can't leave fb. Seems he has left fb before the case has been closed or he has paid. So unless he does in fact pay then you can get it removed. Close the case as soon as you can and you'll get the fees back too.0 -

THe case has only been open since yesterday and he left the feedback it afterwards - I'm hoping the feedback will be automatically removed if and when he doesn't pay. But this may be optimistic of me!! Of course if he does pay it opens up another can of worms - the odds really do seem to be stacked in the buyers favour on ebay, don't they?0 -
The last time I opened a NPB the feedback option was withdrawn. It only showed open again once they had paid.0

I'm quite sure you can have the feedback removed if he doesn't pay for the items. In the mean time, you could respond to the feedback saying "buyer hasn't paid for items yet"Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I don't understand anyone not offering collection.... saves you the hassle and time.......
Just my view0 -
Not sure it saves hassle. It often means arranging to be in at a certain time and the buyer being late or not turning up at all. You also have the possible complication of not being able to prove delivery if they pay with Paypal which you cannot refuse to accept.I don't understand anyone not offering collection.... saves you the hassle and time.......

You can refuse paypal if you wish it's not the law just ebays stupid rules. If someone wants to collect from me it's cash only, if they want to pay by paypal i will quote them (if not already on the listing) a postage price. They then have both options available.0 -

It doesn't if you work long hours. The few occasions I have offered collection I have ended up with buyers having hissy fits because I am not at home at the time they want to collect in the evening or buyers wanting me to stay at home on my precious day off work. The majority of my transactions that have ended in a NPB situation have been collection items. Popping to the post office in my lunch hour is so much less hassle!0
