We are having our kitchen done and I can completely sympathise with the OP. Our builder, lovely guy as he is, has no concept of the dust and took the kitchen wall down without using dust cover! May be because we told him we are replacing the 1970s carpet in the house. But the carpet around the work site are ruined and if we were planning to keep them we would have been very upset.0

I always specify before I hire them that I want dust sheets down and shoes off on carpets. It is not ideal but keeps mess to a minimum.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
