The data on your drive has been damaged, you need to use one of the programs I suggested, the more you fiddle, the less chance you have of getting your data back !!!
You could go to square one and put the drive back into the original PC, and set up as slave again to see if that machine can see it.0 -
The original pc was no good so I took both hardrives out and put them into cases. The old master one is working fine in a case but this one that was the slave has the problems even though its been changed to a master one tooThanx

I have installed the diskgetor to the pc I'm using that the external raw drive is attached to is this ok?
I've just run it and it shows both hardrives in stage 2 although 0 data on the raw one, On stage 3 after selecting the raw drive to recover in the list it says
drive no. 1, local disk, ntfs, start 31.50K, SIZE:153.38G
HD 1, RAW, start 0b, size:31.50G please select this disk if n
Not sure what to do now because I cant see what the thing says after the 'please select this disk if n' because it seems my monitor isnt big enough to read it its a 14 inch monitor. do you have any idea what it might say? and if I ever get to any files where is safe to save them to can I save them to this pc in a desktop folder?Thanx

I can now see the files when I scan the top one in the list above so they are there still, I just hope they are ok.
Where can I put them though can I recover them to this pc then transfer them to the raw disc again once I have formatted it and got it back to ntfs? and is it best to recover them all at once or a bit at a time?
Can I just copy the whole lot because at the top of the recovery list it says: hd1 ntfs 153.38g local disc. root drive size 60.28g
Does that mean it will now be ntfs instead of raw once recovered?Thanx
