Ignore List assistance please.

I should very much like to add my first person to this list but it says they cannot be found in the database and to check the members list.

This I did, and found them, employing cut and paste this time but I still receive the same message.

Would anyone care to help a silly old duffer?

Click onto their profile and click 'add to user lists' and then click 'add to ignore list', then you confirm by clicking yes.

Seems to be a bug somewhere in the forum software.

I think to do with some usersames that start with capital letters?

As said, if you go to the user's profile page and try from there it usually works.

Yup, there is a bug in the site's engineering. I tried to "ignore" several usernames over a period of several weeks and every time, MSE reported 'username not found'.

Thanks to fermi and fang for the solution. Perhaps MSE would be best advised to drop this alleged facility from the user's CP and instead ask users to go the route described by those two helpful posters.
