How much to fit an additional radiator?

I have a central heating system already and want someone to fit a small radiator (I already have the radiator) to the downstairs cloakroom. There is no heating there at the moment but the wall does back on to the room where the boiler is so it shouldn't be that difficult to fit position-wise. Has anyone any idea roughly what this would cost? I am wondering if it would be cheaper to get an electrician to fit a panel heater. Any info gratefully received,
Sandra

We had one fitted last year in our downstairs cloakroom for £140 cash (including the radiator and the labour). This is in South Wales. The plumber quoted £120-£140 without seeing the place.
We thought he would tap into the pipework from the radiator in the next room but he said it was better to take it from upstairs and even then he didn't take it from the room immediately above because he wanted to tap into a wider section of pipework. So it took him quite a long time and more pipe than expected but he stuck with the top end of his original quote.
We had considered getting an electric heater fitted if we couldn't get a plumber (they're all so busy and not particularly interested in small jobs like this) but once we found someone and got the radiator fitted, we were very pleased with it.0 -
We had an extra radiator fitted whilst having the central heating changed over to a combi boiler, our plumber/installer charged £50 and this included the radiator, valves and extra copper pipework.0

We're having a radiator moved about 4 feet and an extra radiator installed and it's costing us £501 with British Gas. Am I being ripped off, do you think? The pipework for the additional radiator only has to run from the room directly above where it is to be fitted.0

Had an extra rad fitted in lobby area, cost £120, rad is only tiny (about a foot) but pipework comes from upstairs & involved much swearing! :eek:kathyd wrote:We're having a radiator moved about 4 feet and an extra radiator installed and it's costing us £501 with British Gas. I'd get some more quotes, that sounds high.0 -
I was told by someone local within a quote to replace a boiler, that to replace my existing small single nursery radiator with one of “double panel, single convector” design, it would be £165. That's a rip off - straight replacement.0

It cost me £75 to get a small radiator fitted in the bathroom to match the rest of the new system we had got not long before and this is including the radiator. I think over £500 is excessive for that KathyD - I would expect British Gas to be the dearest though so get some more quotes, preferably from local corgi registered fitters and see what they come up with.:hello: :hello: :hello:0
