Nursing/Health Professions funding 2011

Options
Looks like its being reviewed, is anybody on here likely to be affected by this?

I'm really hoping the NHS will continue to pay the fees and bursary as otherwise I don't think I could manage :(

  • Hi,

Do you have a link for info on this? I'm going to have to investigate, that's potentially very bad news.

    All courses or certain degrees?

terrible news...my daughter is waiting to start Y2 of her nursing, the uni keep messing up..3 CRBs this year and the delay of obtaining the crbs means she has missed placements (one whole one and part of another) and she is having to retake Y2!!!

Even in non Health related degrees, changes are only expected to affect new entrants in 2012.

This info is just for one uni of course, but I'm a bit concerned that they're just the first to update their website!

I would have thought people on the course would be ok but its not great for new applicants like me who were hoping to sneak in before the 2012 catastrophe.

There certainly won't be many gap years being taken next year!

Yep, competition for places will be high, lots of disappointed people in spring I imagine.

I can't get by with my bursary so I don't know what I'd do if they were to take it away!

But like oldernotwiser has said, it should only affect new starters in 2012! Well I hope so anyway!
  • I get a NHS bursary for my MA social work course and have not heard about any cuts.
