Esa

well from my old posts i made claim esa, told it would be income based and have effect on anything else i get.

well cont it was.

dwp told me not to claim and apply for dla due to the help i need daily etc

so i have. they said they stopped esa from day after the claim was set up. well today 3 weeks after claim set up n closed, dwp have sent pending payment to back for 2 weeks money and back dated esa money

what the hell. i dont have a esa claim.

so i called them and they say send in writing and it will be closed, im like i did 3 weeks ago day after claim set up.

she rang me back later in day to say she had found letter etc.
i called back and they said claim is still live, i told them its closed and name of person dealing with it.

they got it ok and should have closed over night but payment is still showing to be paided monday.

i contacted them and they said they havent closed the claim yet.
arghhhhhh

but as of today its closed. and the money is still coming

do i send it back to them and reject payment or do i take it and carry on. the date the claim was closed was day letter was recived. eg 3 days ago. not the day after it was sent even tho it was dated by fax and my letter was dated.

    Xmas Saver!
from my personal understanding you can recieve dla as well as esa. Don't close the payment yet, but look at entitledto.com website.

Was just about to reply with this very point. DLA can be claimed with ESA (or JSA or whilst working for that matter).

I'm just wondering whether the poster had concerns relating to other benefit entitlement that the differences with contribution and income based ESA make. No experience on this I'm afraid.
Just in case you were wondering (some have)..... I'm a woman!

That doesnt make sense. Unless you have other income your ESA shouldnt stop you claiming housing benefits and getting pretty much full entitlement.
