Using vector images

There seem to be quite a few extensions available - which of them is the one I need?
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/en/search/node/draw%20category%3A40 -
I've just downloaded Inkscape
http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/inkscape/0.48/
and installed it.
I then downloaded this vector image
http://vector4free.com/vectors/id/451
Which is a zip, i then unziped the SVG and opened it in the file. It opens it in the same size. But you can resize the images to A4 by going to (in Inkscape) File -> Document Properties -> Page tab -> Page Size box -> A40 -
I'm sorry but you are going to have to be more explicit in how to open a ZIP file. I have tried the Open with .... option (I have downloaded Inkscape) and it just keeps leading me down more and more specific paths. Also tried opening the file from within Inkscape but got this message "Failed to load the requested file FILE DESTIMATION\9 eCommerce Vector Icons.zip0
-
OK so a zip file is a collection of files in 1 big file. You need to unzip the zip file, which will then give you a load of files.
If you haven't already you need to install something like WinRar. If you download that zip file, don't try and open it in the program, what happens if you just double click it when you are searching through your folders? Does it open?0 -
I have WinRar.
When I click on the file it states that "Paint can't open this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported" I cant seem to be able to transfer it into WinRar.0 -

Your file association seems to be wrong. Right click -> Open with... -> Winrar. To make this permanent tick "remember this selection" or however it is called nowadays.0 -

ok awesome you have winrar!
When you double click the zip file, win rar should open and give you a list of files.
1) Double click the file (the zip file) and you should get this box
2) Double Click on the 9eCommerce Vector Icons folder, then click on the payments-media-iconset.svg and press Extract To
3) Choose location C: and press OK
4) Open up that program. (the drawing one!) Press File then Open. See the drop down box, you want to get to that folder. So you can click on the C:, then double click on the 9eCommer Vector Icons folder.
5) You should then see your svg file. Double click it0 -
Thats amazing!! I've done it. We will finally have a logo shortly.
Thank you so much

Well I have just tried to do it again and it just wont let me. All I want is to be able to download a few vectors, and print them out so that I can take to the group meeting.
Each time I have downloaded vector >> Saved >> and then tried to extract it to view it and it just won't let me! I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
