                    Hi All,
I am about to book flights for honeymoon and suddely had a panic about surname.
Would I be right in thinking that as long as I book in maiden name and passport is in maiden name it would be ok to fly and save the hassel of changing passport names etc for afterwards????

            Hi,
I presume if you book a wedding abroad you book in your maiden name and change your name when you get back ?? I had't thought about that. I have booked flights in my Maiden name .

I hadn't really thought about it, it was actually H2B who pointed out, then we had the whole conversation of how would they know we had just got married etc... think I'm going to go for keeping both in maiden name until afterwards and pretend it's like a normal holidayMarried my wonderful husband 29th May 20110

Don't worry you don't have to pretend it's a normal holiday. As far as I know (someone correct me if I'm wrong) you are not legally obliged to change your name once you are married and are entitled to use either your married or maiden name afterwards. A lot of people keep using their maiden name professionally etc nowadays.0

If you want to honeymoon in your married name you can get your passport changed in advance but it is not legal to use until after you get married.
You need to send forms off to the Passport Office who will check with your registrars and send you out an ammended passport.
That means you must book the honeymoon in your married name or you will not be able to fly.
Lots and lots of people do not change their name when they get married. Absolutely tell everyone it's a honeymoon so you can get extra special treatment!!
I'm flying in my maiden name and want everyone to know!!! I'm going to be MMMAAARRRRRIIIIEEEEEDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love surprises!0
