Poor dogs are nervous wrecks tonight!

My poor dogs! Jack has been barking his head off since about 5 pm and Lucy is headed for a nervous breakdown.
Some idiot in my road (one of the "beyond the law" men) is setting his massive fireworks off in the middle of this very narrow residential street and the noise is horrendous - the house is shaking.
There's an organised fireworks display in the park just a short walk away, but he has been setting his off since dusk.
This man is mid 30s with two kids aged about 12 and 15 who have gone elsewhere tonight so it's just him and his dumbo mates swigging from lager cans and whooping over their fireworks.
The poor dogs are beside themselves with terror.
I could cheerfully strangle that man.

Poor dogs, that's awful. Surprisingly, my wee dog hasn't taken any notice, I say surprisingly because she is scared of everything else! Very odd, but I won't complain, I had been expecting her to be a state. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

I know how you feel - mine is a shaking wreck and the neighbours decided to build a bonfire on the land next to my house - every one of them emptying their garbage onto the fire - my side door is hot due to the fire!! and as for the fireworks  don't get me started.0

I'm really sorry for you that your dog doesn't like the fireworks. Unfortunatley a lot of animals don't like them
. Our chinchillas are very grumpy at the moment as they don't like them. They won't even come out of their cage for their out time!
I have to say my parents dog loves fireworks. He runs up the garden and back all while they are going off. Sounds weird but that's what he does when he loves something. It's like playing fetch with him but without the ball :rotfl:. He is a weird dog though.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy

Its going full pelt here, I am sure the bangs are louder than usual. TJ is behing the sofa topped up with Rescue Remedy. Pest aka Dexter is sat on the window sill watching them.
There`s a couple of big displays tomorrow night, then hopefully its all over.RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Well thank God the man has finally called it a night.
Lucy's been so agitated she hasn't even had a wee since about 3pm.
I'm going to let her out now in the garden and hope she will be calm enough to go to the toilet. Most of the bangs have stopped now as it's chucking it down here too, so the dogs can go out for a few minutes then hopefully get some sleep. They've been like raving lunatics since dusk so they really will need to get some rest, poor things.0 -
aww, my mums dog is the same she sits under the dining table or under the bed shaking

My dog on the other hand is the opposite she was sat outside before watching them! she is one of a kind though lol
There hasnt been that many going off here, been a few but not as many as i thought, but it is raining so may be why.. prob more over the weekend though.0 -
Although there has plenty of loud bangs and fireworks going off all evening here, it has been fairly quiet compared to usual bonfire night so I'm presuming a lot of people around here will be having their bonfires tomorrow night instead.
Luckily, the fireworks haven't bothered my two dogs at all and in fact, they seem to have enjoyed their first bonfire night as they spent much of it outside in the garden, watching our next door neighbours' huge fire through the fence.:)0 -
Zara never paid any attention to fireworks.... only to look out of the window to see what is going on but with interest not fear....
Cats slept through the whole thing and there was a lot of them going on around where we live...
My furries are very chilled out about everything - the only thing that ever freaks Zara out is me going out LOL0 -
Our lurcher is terrified of them, I have been covering a small gap with a blanket at the side of the sofa and the wall the other side and he hides in there, but the whole sofa is shaking with him and he must be touching the radiator pipes cos they are making a noise as well..He wont go out for a wee late at night and is waking me up in the middle of the night to go out instead which is a pain.
One of the others just barks at each bang which drives you nuts when your trying to watch something.
The oldest a girl just sleeps through them, bless..
Just hope they stop them soon.. I think they should be restricted to organised displays only, then we would not have to deal with them night after nights for weeks at a time.0
