Google chrome taskbar icon

I recently had to reinstall Google chrome because it kept misbehaving, however a nice feature on the taskbar when windows opened (XP Pro by the way) was a Google icon at the far left of the taskbar which came in handy to open the browser. Would anyone know how to reinsert this icon? Thanks in anticipation.

Nope, that doesn't work it just goes straight back. The icon I'm after is the one that seemed to be "built in to" the task bar rather than one of the many icons if that makes any sense. As soon as windows booted up and loaded all the icons, google was in the left hand corner so that it was readily available without searching for it.

you mean quick launch?? the bottom left??

should just drag it in to it, it will probally be the lastr one so the little arrows and it will be in there.

if you drag it again you can do it so the black line shows and place it as one of the 3 on show..

have you got quick launch enabled btw??

right click on taskbar and select toolbars and tick quick launch

Hi,

if you right click on desktop icon you should get option to add to quick launch.

Thanks, that's kind of it but it wasn't an icon as such it was the word google on it's own. I might sound fussy but you know when you get used to something and it all changes...............
