Primark oxford street - purse snatchers

I always make sure my handbag zip is facing forwards and not behind me, when walking around I will also have my hand covering the zip. It's not a concious thing really, just something I've always done.I'm still driving away and I'm sorry everyday,
I won't always love these selfish things.0 -
Frankly Oxford Street as a whole is best avoided if you want to remain free of bag thefts and pickpockets0

I recieved another phone call from the metropolitan police yesterday, saying that they have been charged for fraud and handling stolen goods in my case but apparently they are going to get a stiff sentence because they are wanted throughout London for an overwhelming amount of crime, many similar to the one against me. So it is possible they could be the ones that stole from your friends daughter Bizzybee.0

Apparently they tend to make a beeline for lone shoppers when possible and I know it sounds silly but hardly anyone has the phone number for lost or stolen card on their mobiles or up on them of incase their card should be stolen. I had to ring my husband to block mine, when I get my new card though I will put the number on to my phone straight away unless of course your unfortunate to get your phone nicked too like the poor friend of Bizzybee :-(0

This happened to me in Hamleys a couple of years ago. The store wouldn't even look at the cctv because of data protection (sigh). The police were good, but never found anyone/thing. I realised when I went to pay for our stuff at the till. It was awful, with a 10 and 12 year old in tow - on our own. Lost about £150 cash and personal bits and bobs. Learned a big lesson that day though.
Only wanted to add my tale of woe because I thought it important to mention it isn't just the down market Primark - it can happen in even the best stores!"Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." Aldous Huxley.

These people are so ruthless especially to steal from someone with children in tow - I have heard from friends that its happened to them too, including here on the Isle of Wight where I live my friends sister had her purse stolen whilst in Peacocks and another friend had hers stolen at Butlins Bognor Regis , she sadly had her children with her too on their first day of their holiday. There are so many scummy people about I know I have certainly learned my lesson and taken a few tips from kind people who have answered this thread.
Such a pity they didn't catch the people who stole from you crystaltipps, may even be the same ones that stole from me with a bit a luck and nice to know that they will get what they deserve. I think its the personal bits in my purse that mean more to me than the money but nice policeman who is dealing with the case is going to send it back to me. Full marks to the Metropolitan Police.0
