electronic drum kit question

Is it possible to get an electronic drum kit ie no noise (flat dwellers) and stream your own music to the headphones too, so that you can drum along to music? How would I arrange this please? Am thinking it could combine OH's love of music with some exercise/stress release at home. He tried one out at Grand Designs and loved it, but it was just headphones listening to his own drumming, which gets boring.

thanks for any advice.

    You need a Mixer.

Get one which has suitable Line Inputs for both the drumkit and whatever playback device you'll be using, and which also has a headphone output.

    Here's an Alesis

Here's some more, with USA pricing, but these look like the type of thing you should consider.
  • I'd expect most should have something along the lines of an auxiliary input which you could connect up your mp3 player, hi-fi etc too.

Can he play it with the music silent too? Not for him, for the rest of us I mean :D

I need something to be loud for OH and the drums to sound good for him but not any noise for me or more particularly the neighbours. thanks!
