Pregnant and being made redundant

I wonder if anyone has any advice... I will be contacting CAB etc but cant whilst in the office!!

My manager informed me this morning that the HR woman would be coming to issue me with a threat of redundancy letter next week.

I am the office admin/manager and i think they will eventually be getting rid of this office and having hot desks elewhere but would probably still need admin support. There are 2 other admin/secretaries on the region who as far as i know have not yet been affected....One of these girls covered for my previous maternity leave in 2009.

My employers are well aware that i am 18 weeks pregnant and i highly suspect that they have calculated my dates to make me redundant before the 26th week so that the dont have to pay me SMP, given the 4 week notice period etc.

Although i understand that redundancy in this climate is very likely i do kind of feel that my pregnancy and maternity leave are a huge factor.

I work in construction and ill hazard a guessthat they will say the other 2 girls costs arent on overheads but paid by their projects so arent in the same boat. but surely if theres no projects as their not winning any tenders, they will be paid from somewhere!!

Any advice on where i stand??
