Washing Machine problem

Hi - have put a new door seal on my hoptpoint aquarius WM61 today (very carefully)- all went ok no problems. Started the wash and it has filled with water and then stopped - was in garden and came back in and has tripped the circuit. Any ideas anyone before i call someone out? Cheers

The main cause of a washing maching overfilling is the Pressure Switch, it is connected to a small chamber attatched to the drum, as the drum fills with water it pushes air into the pressure switch thus activating it and stopping it at the required level.
All i can think is maybe you have pulled one of the pipes off the pressure switch, another possible is if you've had the machine tilted on its edge etc while putting the seal on, this usually causes dirt or excess clothing fibres to get stuck in the pressure chamer or switch and cause a blockage, a general rinse out with water usually dose the trick
