BEWARE: London Accommodation Scams

Hi All
A massive warning about holiday accommodation rental websites which are found through gumtree.
I was just scammed to the tune of £640 by one of these.
All the details of what happened are on my blog: blog.essentialtravel.co.uk
I have a list of sites to beware but can't post links however a big one is westend hyphen rentals dot co dot uk who totally duped me.
A deposit was requested to secure accommodation from westend-rentals.co.uk and then they disappeared off the face of the planet. We spoke to the police and they are strongly warning against trusting accommodation from gumtree where an advance payment is made.
I'm an idiot for falling for this, I know, but they were convincingly well rehearsed con merchants. Please all, be alert to these scams!
