Fares to LA summer 2011

Don't forget our friendly government put airport tax up last Monday and fares for next year reflect these higher costs and the fact that overall fewer planes are flying the Atlantic. Add to that your desire to fly on the busiest week of the year and I doubt you will get much better. You might save a little flying direct from London but the best I can find for those dates on non stop flights on American or BA from Heathrow are all over £700. Bite the bullet or fly at a different time, even flying mid week M-Th may save a few coppers but that is the start of the summer school holidays and its when airlines and operators make their profits to allow them to sell flights at half that price in November!0

We normally go around end of Jul-beg Aug to Los Angeles. The highest I've paid is approx £650 (last summer) . Usually i wait until the new year as prices start going down then. However, I'm not sure about prices after these tax increases and we've always flown from Heathrow.0
