Buildings Insurance Claim Help.

Long story short; I need to make a claim on my buildings insurance who said i need to get at least two quotes to them before they will decide who to appoint.

However my plumbing company have said that if I sign a mandate of authhority they can deal with the whole thing and i wont need to submit any claims to the insurance company as they will do it. They said it is my right to do so.

Are they correct? Can i sign this mandate and not worry what the insurer might say?

Depends on if they are a regulated company authorised to handle an insurance contract- they are not Concept solutions by any chance?

No, they are a large local firm who I have used many times before but not for insurance stuff. I'm just trying to dot all the I's and cross all the T's so to speak!

i wouldn't, most insurance company's will not communicate with them due to the data protection act and your insurance defiantly wouldn't cover their fees.

Do it by the book and do what your insurance company instructs you to do.

Tell your plumber he will get the job if he submits a legitimate and reasonable quote.

Bit cheeky really, making sure he gets the business then.

If you only want this plumber to do the work, make sure his price is lower than the other one.;)
