Early-retirement wannabe

Thanks for all the kind wishes.

The blog is up and running (url is now in my signature line). I hope you'll pop in and take a look.

There's still some work to do and it could be that not all the links will work initially (but please let me know of any improvements I should make). ...don't be too harsh I've designed it myself and am learning as I go!

I've added my first blog post about early retirement!

The rest of the blog is some old stuff about travel which I added a while ago to a previous domain but you can be sure I'll be adding lots more content over the coming weeks and months.

First note of advice. Not good to have a click to enter site here thingy. The public in general take this as a big turn off.

It is a user interface thing

Equiv to horrible muzak in elevators or while waiting on a phone line. Most find it irritating.

Seconded, always set the web "landing" page as the 'contents' of your book (sorted by most recent / relevant first). I.e. for both returning visitors (what's new) and new visitors (where to start).

Good luck - been following this thread since I joined the forum.

Just one suggestion about font colour; white font on a pale background is quite difficult to read - as is pale green font on white. Maybe use a stronger shade for coloured font?

Friday was my last day of full time work and after 31 years of work I am now hoping for at least 31 years of retirement.

I'm not sure how I feel yet.

But after almost seven years (since starting this thread) its time to put the plan into action.

I know how I feel - jealous!

35 years last month that I've been working. I'm still dithering about giving up. I have earmarked 31 12 2019, could probably go now.
