I have just bought a laptop with no kind of programs for spreadsheets and just wondered what was the difference between Excel and Money.
At the moment, I always use Excel for working out household budgety type things. Is Money easier/better to use?
Is there a way to get a free trial?

Excel and Money are completely different products.
Excel is for creating your own spreadsheets for a variety of purposes.
Money is a tailored product for recording all activities on your bank accounts, credit cards, loans, shareholdings etc.
I would recommend both products - for completely different applications.
Just looked on the Microsoft website, and apparently you can get a free trial of the new version so you will see what I mean.

That's how rich I want to be.
But until then - best wishes - Mike.

Money is ideal for dealing with things like shares and it handles complex equations for you. Excel is less forgiving and requires you to do your equations, but if all you want is to keep a track of your bank ballance then it is ideal and of course, the spreadsheets are transferable without requiring a copy of Money on every PC you work on.
However, if you just want a spreadsheet why not download a free office suite such as Open Office; http://www.openoffice.org/
Others are, of course, available.0 -
Thank you for the replies. Think I'll download openoffice, sounds good. Noticed there are people selling it on eBay for £6 a pop! What a scam!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
