DVD player will not play one particular DVD

I am puzzled. My tesco DVD player will not play on a disc I have recorded on Memorex DVD-R, that particular DVD seems to be the problem. I have recorded the same DVD on a RW+ just out of interest to see what happens and it does play it. I thought may be the problem is within the DVD, but it plays DVD-R I have recorded before.. This is puzzling me, I thought may be I have got a bad batch, but it is this particular DVD, Rosemary Conley, and it is region 2, it will not play on the Tesco player if I recorded on DVD-R. It plays fine on my Starlogic. Any reason, anybody? Thanks

Are you certain your player is compatible with DVD-R and not only DVD+R?Charlie0

I think so, it's a Tesco value DVD, it does play some of DVD-R I have previously recorded!! Thanks0
